Wohoo! Finally freed myself from the monopolies of WIndows XP. I'm now officially running on completely legal softwares and operating system now! :P



Although FireFox does looks kinda funky when viewing Lowyat.net.

Anyway, won't be updating my blog too often after this post, have to get used to UBUNTU now lol. But i'll definitely make a post about this coming Sunday's Talent QUest Semi FInals. Watch out :P

Friday

I got myself a new set of chargers + batteries to replace my vented Eneloops for use in my flashlight. Got it online from Mudah.com.my for RM120 only! Man you guys should check that place out, quite a lot of stuff there and also can nego kau kau since barely anyone checks that place.



The batteries are rated at 2100mAh, 100mAh higher than Eneloops, feels slightly heavier and also have better build quality! Eventhough the Imedions are made in Taiwan while the Eneloops are made in Japan. The charger itself is pretty unique. It has 4 independant charging channels. What that means is that you can put in 4 cells with totally diffrent charge states, types and size and it will still charge normally! Another unique feature is the capability to switch between a 2 hour fast mode, or an 8 hour slow mode. In the fast mode, the charger will charge the batteries up to 93% charge rate, while in the slow mode it'll charge all the way up to 98%!! Pretty good by today's standard. Tested it in my torchlight and it gives out 1 hour and 30 minutes of constant 195 lumens! Compared to my vented Eneloops which barely lasts 30 minutes.

You guys should try out internet shopping man, its so convenient! Only thing is that you'd have to be careful and use your common sense. The safest way to deal would be COD which stands for Cash On Delivery. You set up a place to meet and deal there. The other common method is to bank in to the person's bank account and he/she'll deliver it to you via postage. The latter is somewhat risky, unless you're buying from a reputable dealer. Do NOT bank in money to someone who does not look trustworthy. If a deal is too good to be true, it might just be. A good site to deal in would be Lowyat.NET's garage sales and bulk sales section.

Saturday

Was busy pwning Daniel in CS online when suddenly my bro called me. He ajak-ed me to go to Pyramid to watch Monsters Vs. Aliens 3D! Had not tried 3d yet, nor had I watched that movie, so I went. Brother came and picked me up late, 6.15, while the movie starts at 6.30. Somehow managed to reach there in time to collect the tix and enter the cinema. Received some weird glasses at the counter and entered the cinema.

Movie starts and 10 mins into the movie, THE FUCKING THING FROZE! Then it went blank and the lights went on. WTF?!?! After that, a guy came in and announced that because of Technical Difficulties, the movie will be replayed in 5 minutes time. Fine, as long as I get to watch my movie. 15 minutes later, a woman came in and talked loudly that the Technical Difficulty is taking longer than expected to fix and asked us to go to the counter to get a refund. WTF?!?! I CAME FROM FUCKING SS19, WASTING PETROL, TIME AND MONEY FOR POPCORN TO WATCH 10 MINUTES OF NOTHING?!?! Mother fucking cibai sial. Fine. Tried to catch the 8.45 show and was told that they themself don't know if it can be fixed by then. -.-"

Saturday

Today was the day, TALENT QUEST SMKSU AUDITION!!

More like a singing/dancing contest though, coz there were only 2 categories, singing and dancing. This year there was no band, learned from past year experience that bands take damn bloody cb long to get ready and perform. This year's talent quest saw 44 in the singing category and 11 in the dancing category, and ran from 1230pm to about 615pm. Imagine how long it'll take if theres an extra band category!

I was part of the crew, under logistics, same as the other RELA members. Our job was to arrive at 9am, and arrange all the chairs in the hall for the spectators to sit in. And guess what, our school actually installed a humidifier during the mid-year holiday renovations! But IMO, it made it worse instead. As if the hall isn't only hot, but its also freakin humid! It was like an urban rainforest!

The crowd was pretty good. They cheered for every single act! Most prolly coz many of the spectators are from other schools, supporting their own. Our school was never that sporting lol. Racist sial the ppl there, in a good way lol. Theres this ang-moh who joined the talent quest, and although nobody know who he is, EVERYONE, and i mean EVERYONE cheered for him even before he started! His singing ain't that bad though, he was one of the 10 who made it into the semi-finals.

The best was yet to come though, Dancing category was next and the hall was filled with people, expecting lotsa eye candy to see some sick dance moves. The last one was the BEST SIAL!!! GOGO DEGELS!!! Why are they the best, well, wait till next week when I record their dance vid. :P

The most Zha Dou part is when a girl came out dressed in a long skirt and speghetti top, where she danced balet for a good 2 minutes. The crowd was already falling asleep and then the song ended and she exitted through the left stage door. After a couple seconds of silence, the crowd clapped, expecting it to be the end of her performance, when BAM! She loses the skirt for a track pants and did some HARDCORE MOVES MAN!! Pretty much expected though, nobody in their right mind would perform balet in front of teens lol...

The rest was pretty good, one group even performed Tecktonik. Since there are only 10 finalists per category, judging for the dance category was pretty easy, all they had to do is remove one.

Well, thats over for now. Next is the Semi-Finals which will be at the same place, and starts at 2.30. Make sure you guys go and SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL!! Congrats to Revathi and Shereen from our class to make it into the semi-finals!!

Happy Birthday to ME!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!

Had my dinner today at TGI Fridays with my family today. Not bad sial that place! Birthday dude gets a free brownie with ice cream topping! Plus they sang a bday song for me lol. They asked me to do some stupid stuff also lol. Had to stand on the chair and freeze like a statue for 30 seconds in the middle of the restaurant. LOL!

Too bad never take video or photo of that, would be so nice :(

Remember my previous post about the Flashaholics gathering? Remember that tiny WEE little light that produced a farkin huge load of light called the RAW? Well, I'm gonna get the smaller brother called the WEE.

How small is it? Well, heres a photo for comparism.

With a light that small, you must wonder whats powering that wee little light eh?

Well, its a custom made 10180(10mm by 18mm) li-ion(thats the same type as ur handphone!) battery, which is amazingly tiny, especially compared to an AA cell.



Just placed an order for the light, along with an extra battery, a charger, and 3 Ice Blue Tritium Vials*.

*Tritium is a radioactive isotope of Hydrogen, containing one proton and 2 neutrons. What makes it so interesting is that when you put Tritium in a glass vial containing a phosphor(think glow in the dark stuff), it makes the phosphor glow, for 12.33 years until it reached its half life. The tritium acts as the power source, exciting the phosphors and makes it glow.

Pyramid.

Went to Sunway Pyramid with Zhafir, Kugen and Kenji today.

Woke up at 9.30am, went online and searched for the phone number for the cab(yeah, i'm pretty last minute). In the end i called up Sze Jin for the cab number, which, for your information, is 03-80242727 for Comfort Cab. Expected them to take about 20 minutes to arrive, so at 11am, I called them up and told them I need a cab now, still wearing only my boxers. Hanged up the phone and went downstairs to get some water, when I got back to my room, I saw the cab waiting for me outside. WTF?!?! So damn bloody fast!! Frantically, I put on my jeans and randomly grabbed a shirt and put it on and ran downstairs.

Cab costed me RM7.40. Oh well, pretty standard considering that it costs Rm7 from Pyramid to my house anyway. Reached there and waited a couple of minutes for the rest to arrive. Accompanied Zhaf to purchase a pair of shoes coz his pair is busted. He walked all the way to pyramid from his house with a super-thin pair of slippers, and was wearing jeans! WTF?!

After that, I got myself a pretty cool chain for RM39 from some silver shop which specialises in selling chains. Randomly picked a Stainless Steel chain from the display.



Bought the chain mainly for the chain only. Need it for my upcoming Lummi Wee which I would be wearing around my neck. The dragon thingy is just for temporary use while waiting for my Lummi Wee to arrive lol. If you read my previous blog post about the Flashaholics Gathering, you would've know what a Lummi Wee is. :P

Anyway, we went to the cinema and purchased tickets to the 2.30 screening of Night At The Museum 2. While waiting, we originally wanted to have a quick game of bowling, but the idiot cibai lady receptionist bloody lanc. What happened is that all of us except Kenji have a student card which would qualify for student discount. Although he's only 16 and definitely a student, that idiot cibai lady declines to give student discount. Fine. We wanna play 3 person, so i gave her RM10 and told her we don't need shoes coz we were all wearing skateboard shoes, which should be sufficient for bowling and would also save us RM3 per person. But noooooooooooo, we MUST rent the bowling shoes no matter what. When we told her about our shoes, she handed me the cash and asked me to go get a drink. WTF?!?!

In the end we went to play a game of pool. So much more worth it, only RM7 per hour! Had a fun time playing though Kugen was totally pwning all of us. Had a few lucky shots and a few dumb shots, sadly no video. :(

After pool, we went to watch the movie. Movie was not bad, though I had not watched the first installment, I catched up to the storyline pretty quick. Movie ended and we wanted to sneak back to the entrance door to watch another movie, but DAMMIT! Theres a lady there who told us off! Argh...

In the end we walked around Pyramid looking at blazing hot chicks with miniskirts ice skating phones and stuff. Walked back to SS18 with them after that. Weird eh? Sat a cab to pyramid but ended up walking home. What to do, economic crisis ma~ Have to save money lol...

Arrived home, ate my dinner, and my tuition van who was supposed to come at 7.30, came a whole 30 MINUTES EARLIER!!! Bloody hell, when the van came I was still happily chatting away on MSN, till my maid came rushing into my room saying the van is already waiting in front. -.-"

Tuition went as normal, with the exception of our Chemistry teacher who taught us some outside knowledge, like diffrent blood types and what if 2 person with 2 diffrent blood types gets a baby and stuff like that. Pretty useful information there.

Damn, its already 2.30am, time to sleep, ciao!

Night Jogging.

Yeah, I jog. So what? Hard to believe? Don't underestimate me weyh, although i'm fat and lazy, I still exercise. :P

You must think I'm crazy to jog so late at night judging by the current crisis of rempits and snatch thieves on the run. But hey, thats just part of the fun. Night is, in my opinion, the best time to jog. You don't feel as tired as you usually do and can run further, and since you sweat less compared to jogging in the afternoon or evening, you also don't need to bring much water. Night jogging could be a fun thing to do, one just needs to be ready and must always be cautious to their surroundings.

8pm at night. I sit here in front of my computer, trying to find something interesting to read or do something to kill time. Nothing. I went downstairs to watch TV, but too bad my grandmother is already watching it. Oh well, i've gotta do something. No way in hell i'm gonna sleep at 8pm, I rather go jogging. Oh shi-! Thats a BRILLIANT idea!

Immedietly I went back to my room, put on my track pants and bright yellow jersey, took out some cash from my wallet, just in case I got desperate for a drink mid-way, brought along my flashlight, my phone, and some spare batteries for my flashlight, and most importantly, my pocket-knife. Yeah babe, now i'm totally ready. In case some idiot rempit tries to mug me, i've got a flashlight powderful enough to temporarily disorientate him(or her) with a push of a button. If it got from bad to worse, I have my knife to at least intimidate them, but if it gets even worse, at least I have a weapon I can use.

The route I took was roughly 5km. Yeah, not much. But it was enough to get me sweating and it killed about 1 hour of my time lol...



All in all, it was kinda fun. Streets looked different at night, some totally unrecognisable. Reached home, went upstairs to enjoy my air-con room and here I am, typing this.

My advice to those who wants to do night jogging or riding, is to always be alert. Always hold something in your hands, preferably a flashlight(yeah, i'm crazy about lights. lol), and always have something you can use to defend yourself, be it a pepper spray, or in my case, a pocket knife. The latter is not really recommended coz instead of using it to defend yourself, you might end up giving your attacker a weapon instead, if they manage to grab it. Plus, you'd have a hard time explaining to the coppers if they pull you over.

A flashlight is a very important thing to have. It helps to properly illuminate dark streets and those hard-to-reach corners and also can be used as a self-defense tool. Don't use some silly-ol' RM10 flashlight, instead, invest in a proper flashlight. It must be small enough to be held in your hands, bright enough to light up at least 50m ahead of you, and solid enough to be used as a melee weapon when the time comes.

Had not ridden for efing long and today I was desperate for a ride... Packed up my bag, dropped by at 99 Speed Mart to get 2 bottles of 1.5l drinking water for 90c each! Holy cibai, that is what I call CHEAP! After I got my water supply, I pedalled all the way from SS19 to Bukit Cermin which is in Putra Heights. According to my stopwatch I took 42 minutes to reach there, not including traffic light stops and petrol station stops :P

Reached there and called up my ride buddies who were already there, but, he's not picking up -.-". Climbed up the cibai mountain alone which took another 30 minutes. When I reached the top, I saw them. Apparently they were already waiting for me when I arrived there...




Damn, the trails there are totally unrecognisable since the last time I went there which was during the previous BC race, somewhere in March. Last time there were barely any jumps, now, there are doubles, 4ft drops, and even a freakin' WALLRIDE!! WTF?!

Did a short run then my friends ajak'ed me to their place in Court 8 apartments for a swim, which I gladly accepted. But wait, I'm on a bike, while they're in a car. How am I gonna go there? Kinda unfair since they have a car. Oh well, guess I'll just pull myself there :P What do I mean? Well, the video should explain everything lol...



Arrived there, parked my bike, went makan at some chinese restaurant and went back there for a swim. Hmm... I guess that pretty much sums up today....

Oh, and yeah, before I end this post, heres a pretty cool shit which I captured today lol... :P

Bored.

Well, just to announce that you guys should expect less updates in these coming days as i'm pretty much bored to hell every passing day....

Its weird, during school times you'd wish it was holiday, during holiday you'd wish it was school time. Well, now I seriously want out from the holidays, unlike some of my friends who went to Australia, Pulau Pangkor, and another who went to visit some volcano somwhere. Lucky them I guess... The furthest place I went was Singapore during my Lick Hung school end trip...

Anyway, expect the next post to be pictures from the camp, collected from Ker Li. And maybe some vids from Dheepan's vidcam. ;)

Direction.

There are many types of blogs around. Some blogs are purely made for ranting out their hatred, some people posts reviews about stuff on their blogs, some post about their personal life as if it was a public diary, and lots more...

Today, I had finally decided what my blog will be like, thus the title of this blog post. I started out blogging coz a friend of mine kept persuading me(you know who you are!) to start one. Seeing that exam had passed and I had too much free time, decided to start one just for the fun of it. When I started the blog, I expected it to die miserably after a day or 2 like my previous blog(yea, I used to blog), or, like Ajay's blog which died after one, measly post.

Slowly, post by post, day by day, I start to enjoy blogging. Everyday I'd write about the stuff that happened on that day. If there was nothing special on that day, I'd still think of something else to write about, like the guide on how to patch bicycle tubes.

Now, I had finally decided on the direction of this blog. The main reason of writing this blog will be to practise my English skills, which is why you see most of the blog posts have very little images, unlike most other blogs, and literally a wall of text. I'll try my best to post at least once a day, usually late at night, describing about my day, writing about reviews of items I just bought, recent gatherings I'd had, or about recent issues or events in the world today.

Another reason I started this blog is to kill time since I'm usually very free throughout the day. One blog post will usually take anywhere from an hour to five to compose, no thanks to Blogspot's super annoying bugs.

If you're too lazy to read my blog coz of the wall of text, then I don't really mind. I started this blog for the sake of writing and killing time, not to blogwhore or be like those people who are like 'Oh, I have a blog, I'm so cool~ Please come read it!' whose blog are filled with nothingness and totally random posts.

Anyway, since i'll be using my blog to practise my English writing skills, do drop me a comment or write on the chatbox if you spot any grammer mistakes and such.

Hey guys, just woke up from my super-long nap. Time to write about the awesome-ness of CAMPZILLA!!

In total there were 40-something campers and 17 committees. Guys dorm was downstairs while the girl's dorm was on the 3rd floor. Committees had the special privilege to have the girls and guys sleep in the same room.

Zhi Ying and Ker Li was the F&B dudes. If you hate the food, blame them! :P . Dheepan was the MC most of the times. Ying was the so-called security, sleeping right after the campfire lol... I was the LMC(Last Minute Committee) as I joined the committee during the very last minute and also did most of the last-minute stuff like providing the Mic and sound system, providing the boxes for the slope-sliding which was part of the obstacle course, fixing up the super-cool disco lights, setting up the Blind Man's Trail 30 minutes later than scheduled(hey, don't blame me. The rest of the committees refused to wake up!), being the music guy, playing with the echo effects, making the T-Shirts and also all the other odd-jobs.

This was also the first time i can finally put my lights and knives to full use!

Anyway, on with CampZilla!



Day 1.

Arrived there at 9pm as instructed. Chin Yi, ZY(Zhen Yau, not Zong Ying. LOL), Dexter and Ker Li was already there. Unloaded all the stuff from my mom's car and waited for a whole HOUR until someone else came.

After that the committees cleared up the committee's room and hall and got ready everything for registration. Registration started late coz Kishan, who was holding the registration list, arrived late.

The first ice-breaking game that we played was Electric Source. How to play it? Well, first we select 3 person out of the hall, then another person is chosen to do an action(waving hands, ass shaking, etc) and everybody else follows. The 3 guys then have to guess who the Electric Source is.

After that, we had Cat & Mouse. Simple game, campers divided into 2 groups, cat and mouse, when we say mouse, mouse catches the cat and vice versa. After 30 minutes of pulling, running, chasing and gangbangs, the campers are gathered at the hall to be given nicknames and splitted into groups of 7-8 each. Each camper wrote a name onto a transparent plastic card and puts it back into a box. After all is done, everyone will randomly pick a card from the box which will become their nickname throughout the camp. Sze Jin wrote 'Kick My Butt, Its FREE!', and the card that he got was 'Butt Face'! LOL!!! What goes around comes around eh? :P

Each team are then required to design a flag with their bare hands with paint on a piece of cloth. Once everybody filled up their stomachs with fried rice and super-diluted orange juice, we showed the campers a video of last year's CampZilla then it was on to the next game, Twisted.

Each team are given pieces of cardboards and newspapers. Dheepan will then tell how many hands, legs, heads, ass, mouth, boobs, etc are needed to be on the cardboard/newspaper given. All team members must be in the cardboard/newspaper and are not allowed to touch the area outside it. The teams are then randomly given a title for their sketch on the next night. Titles include Lord of The Rings and Poh Kong The Ring Maker, Shufflers vs. Ball Room Dancers, Rihanna and Chris Brown, and the committee's sketch, Power Rangers vs. Teletubbies.

Before lights out, we played Captain Ball and the winner faced the committees.



Wash Up and Lights Out. Xin Rou was damn funny sial. When the guys refused to sleep, she shouted 'If you guys don't sleep now, you won't wake up as virgins tomorrow!' Lagi duwan to sleep sial the guys! LOL!!!

Committees slept for around 45 minutes then it was time for OBH(Operasi Burung Hantu). Campers were all gathered at the dewan and are blindfolded and brought to a random location within the school compounds and were left there alone. Most of the campers fell asleep halfway lol...

Day 2

Woke up at 7am to set up the sound system for the morning aerobics and went back to sleep after that :P . While I was sleeping, they played some game that involved grabbing something while shouting campzilla repeatedly lol... Station games followed which includes taking out coins from a box full of crickets, doing helicopters(spinning round' and round' and round') then threading a needle, blow me, rolling through the basketball court under the blazing sun and lots more.

After that, we had Obstacle Course with a twist. Everything they do will be in pairs, tied together by the hand with raflia string. My roll was to torture them with water gun while they were crawling through behind the chairs at the basketball court :P . Was fun seeing them suffer. LOL!!

Please keep your hands in the passenger vehicle at all times!

At night, we had the actual sketch. The sketch was super FUNNY and HORNY, full with retardedness and obscenities, especially Brandon and Sze Jin. LOL!! The committee's sketch was super cool man! Teletubbies managed to defeat Power Rangers with their secret weapon - PORN! LOL!!!

Then, we had dance floor with speakers turned on to full blast and also I managed to improvise a disco light by mounting my light along with sze jin's light onto the ceiling fan and covering my light with a red plastic bag. Totally changed the mood sial! Man, the songs ppl dance to when they're high... Hell, they even danced to Love Story! wtf?! Kuan Peng showed off by doing backflips and stuff while Sherman danced to the music. Kishan tried to impress us by doing a handstand but failed miserably. LOL!

Jojo and Dessie came to help out to start the campfire where we talk about ghost stories and share experiences. Kishan broke down in tears when he talked about seeing his grandfather in his living room who passed away when he was a year old while Dheepan told about the Girl In Blue.

Lights Out. Me, Lu Quan, Jowen, Zhi Ying and Ying Ying sat down to watch Slumdog Millionaire on Lu Quan's laptop as we couldn't sleep. Lu Quan, Zhi Ying and Ying Ying went to sleep before the movie ended(sissies! :P). Movie ended and me and jojo went to Bistro to makan for 2 hours till 5am.

Went back to school to wake the rest of the committees at 5.15am. Turned on the lights and Kishan was sleeping on the ground, with his sleeping bag beside him, Min Jiet and Ker Li woke up immedietly and Ying hid back into her sleeping bag while Jowen tortured her, slapping her, hitting her with rubber bands and pouring water on her. LOL!

I went down to the padang and collected the raflia string to be recycled and used for the next activity - Blind Man's Trail. Laughed like fark when Wai Kynn walked straight into the metal notice board and also Sze Jin keep banging into Brandon! Had fun taking pictures with them too while they were blindfolded >:D






The next game was Shave Me where they are to shave off shaving cream off a balloon, without popping them of course.



After that it was total chaos. What I mean? Check out the photos! LOL!

Campzilla had finally ended after 3 days and 2 nights of night ronda-ing, drinking super diluted orange juice, sleeping on cardboard boxes, towels hanging right on top of you and many other super fun activities!

Well, gonna post a full report tomorrow as I barely slept at all during the camp. Being a committee is fun, but man is it tiring...

On the first night, I slept at 2am, woke up at 3am to conduct Operasi Burung Hantu. Went back to sleep at 4am and waking up at 7am to conduct the morning aerobics...

On the 2nd night, I did not sleep at all, along with Jowen who came to help out for the campfire night...

Had a lot of fun in the camp. Pity Ying as she was the main target throughout the camp. LOL!
